PE100 Black Pipe Compound FAQ

What is the difference between PE100 and PE80?

PE100 has a minimum required strength (MRS) of 10 MPa versus 8 MPa for PE80. For the same pressure rating, PE100 pipes can have thinner walls, or for the same wall they can carry higher pressure.

Why use a pre-compounded black PE100 instead of natural resin plus masterbatch?

In a pre-compounded grade the 2.0–2.5% carbon black is dispersed at the producer, giving consistent UV protection and dispersion (< 3) that meets pipe standards without extra dosing equipment or the risk of poor mixing.

Which standards can pipes made from this compound meet?

The compound is intended for pressure pipe to ISO 4427 / EN 12201 for water and comparable gas pipe standards. Final certification depends on the pipe producer’s testing.

What test results can you provide?

Each lot comes with a certificate covering MFR, density, carbon black content and dispersion; OIT and other values are available on request.

What are the recommended extrusion settings?

Typical extrusion temperatures are 190–220 °C. Dry the material if it has absorbed moisture during storage.
